What did you use to connect the rubber hose from the tranny cooler to the transmission line?

I think it's 5/16 barb to 5/16 inverted flare that goes in the radiator cooler.
And use rubber transmission cooler line, not fuel line, especially if you take it to the track.

Please enlighten me why I should use transmission cooler line instead of fuel line?

Because you're connecting a transmission cooler.
because it's thicker.
it will hold more pressure.
it says transmission cooler line printed on it so if you get it inspected at the track it will pass.
because it costs only a few cents more per foot than fuel hose.
because if it breaks and fluid hits hot exhaust your car might catch fire.
But do what you want to, it's your car.
