Stereo & Electronics - Just when I thought I had it all figured out...

*sigh* So as the title says, I thought I had my audio system all figured out. I'm in the process of building a box to house 2 JL 10w0's, powered by an audiobahn mono channel amp, I already have a set of Pioneer D-Series Coax speakers wired up in place of my stock subs, and I was going to take a set of 5 1/4" Audiobahn components off of my friend's hands, as well as what I thought was a 4 channel amp that turned out to only be two channels. I was also going to put in a new pioneer headunit in place of the stock monsoon one. But once I found out that that was only a 2 channel amp, I began looking at premier's speakers and amplifiers, and discovered that premiere has a class D amp that would be perfect for my subs and a class FD amp that puts out 75W x 4 channels, just right to power the coax as well as the pioneer TS-C720PRS component speakers. The thing about that is, if I get those amps, I have to keep the stock HU to stay under budget, and the amps have speaker level inputs, so I wouldn't have to do a line level converter or anything. My question is what will deliver a better sounding system? My original setup with the 2 audiobahn amps, the pioneer HU, and the 5 1/4 components, or the 2nd setup, with the 2 premier D amps, PRS components, but stock HU??? I kinda wanna keep the stock HU, but when it comes down to it, I would rather have better SQ than the stocker HU. Several people have said that the stocker causes most of the distortion, but does anyone have an idea what the difference in sound quality would be if i don't have to use line level converters? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I always say HU first for these cars especially. Then do whatever is left in your budget, starting with front stage, then subs, then any filler. Those components you had lined up probably aren't the best - but it sounds like you're getting them for free though...
If you want the first setup still just amp the fronts and leave the rears running off of the Monsoon amp (hatch wires or whatever you want to power them) -- or run them off of your new HU if you really want to -- amping fronts will be enough for now IMO.
HU
use whatever components you have for now with that 2ch amp
pull hatch wires forward to sails
hook up sub/amp combo

Alright thanks man... ya I've already run the rear coax's off of the hatch wires from the midbass and the midbass is running off of the tweeter. and ya those components aren't THE best, but they actually are really nice and have a nice little crossover network, and although I'm not getting them for free, I'm still getting them for REALLY cheap. Same with that amp. Thanks for your input, I'll post up pics as soon as I get more work done in a couple of weeks... stupid final exams keeping me from my car :(.

I know that feeling.
Just curious -- how cheap is really cheap on some of this stuff? I only ask because some people aren't aware how cheap they really can get stuff elsewhere -- search around places like SonicElectronix.com and OnlinCarStereo.com.
