D'oh. My tranny builder recommended the zpak in the 3-4 clutch pak. He called Raybestos and they told him they were having quality control issues and the Zpak is on a 2 month back order. He has used other clutches before but he said he had the best results from the Zpak.
Is there another clutch pak out there that works the best in the 4L60e. My guy told me he has used the Red Eagle 8 pak with Kolene steels before and they are decent.

We will be changing to the ALTO REDS AND KOLENE STEELS on our level 2 during this time , Though we spoke directly with RAYBESTOS and the stopage of suppy is indefinate at this time due to a production change Not a change in the product but the machine that makes them, The ALTO REDS and the KOLENE steels are of equal
or better quality and performance characteristics. This will not affect any unit ordered before 5/4/2007 as we have enough ZPACKS in stock to fill present orders plus a few for other purposes if needed. But answering your question I would feel very confident in the reds with the colene steels as a substitute.

I can ask in the morning but as I said the reds are great to we consider them equal. The ZPACK by design is just and easier build clearances almost always come out just right where the reds require more ajustment to get clearance just right.
