Monday I had the bearings on the intake rocker arm on the #1 cylinder go bad. I had needle bearings every where. Luckily, I caught it quick enough that there was no damage. I had my tuner, Jeff Creech, recommend doing a Harland Sharp rocker arm upgrade. Anyone out there that has done this please let me know what you think of it, and the price. I refuse to go to roller rockers, and would like to stay with light weight stock arms. Thanks for the help.

I had it done. I'm running dual springs on L92 heads and wanted the insurance. My rockers were new.

Great job at a reasonable price with fast turnaround. I would highly recommend it.

You can either send them in directly to Harland Sharp or I believe Nate @ Nasty does them as well. I think the cost is around $250.

Out of curiosity, why do you refuse to go to roller rockers? If your cam is a very aggressive one (LSK lobes) roller rockers should be used. Reason for this is there is so much force between the tip of the valve and the rocker it pushes all the oil out from between them. Also it can actually cause the valve to move side to side because it is dragging across the tip. This was explained to me by my engine builder so i am just passing along the info. I decided to go with some shaft mounts.

Hello.

I had the mod done to my LS7 stock rockers. I've been hearing a lot about the needle bearing issue with more aggressive lobe profiles, and decided that it was well worth the insurance. The modification to the rocker arms was very very nice, and looks tons more beefier then the stock setup, especially with the c-clips on the side to keep the bearings in place. I would highly recommend the modification to anyone who upgardes their cam, because it is cheaper then buying roller rockers, and the modification is well worth the cost/benefits factor.

I don't want to go to rollers because I already have the lightest weight valve train on the market. There really aren't any gains with rollers. Also as stated above I can get the bearings upgraded for about $250. I can't really justify $500-600 for a set of rollers to momma when I have already been talking about this. Why pay $250 to upgrade the OEMs when you can get a set of Harland Sharp roller shaft mounts for an additional $129? I've seen them recently for $379 to $399.

Because the tips are heavier. A lot of people want to retain the lightweight tip of the stocker and be able to use it on an aggressive setup. Beef them up and you have best of both worlds. Sure you could have an aftermarket set that does the same and even better, but you're gona pay a lot more than $400.

I did the HS upgrade of the OEM rockers through Nasty Nate. Great service. I considered the Cranes, however, there just seems to be too many issues about valve float. Also, none of real LSX drag cars appear to use them. For $700 there was no way to justify the expense.

The extra weight over the tips is exactly why I don't want rollers. I like the light weight valve train that I have. I just want a little more, or lot more in my case, reliability. I like the stockers, I just want the better bearings. Thanks for all the feed back everyone, and keep it coming!
