Default Tint place scratched my glass!!

Im pissed it looks like hell in person and im sure its in the glass and unfixable unless maybe the window was painted up top and still not sure if that would cover it. Here are some pictures it looks worse in person though. What would you do I am going to call them tomorrow but what if they cant fix it and wont replace my glass?? Nothing I own can stay nice somethin always get f'ed up. My last car I bought brand new had it for about a week and fed ex delivered a package it was an exhaust system and they hit my fender with one of the pipes. I hate anyone to touch my car anymore I swear.

Are you sure that is scratched glass and not where the tint has not adhered to the glass because of the dot matrix? I have 5% on my hardtop and it looks similar, the glass totally isn't scratched. In fact that place that did my tint never used anything that could scratch glass.. I'd take another look at it just to make sure. Though if it is scratched, take it back and raise hell.

if its a scratch, go back to them and let them know. but be calm. i've found many instances where i remained calm and got what i wanted. or more than i wanted.

Yeh thats what ill try to do and im about 99% sure they are scratches. I tried to press on it with my fingers and it didnt do nothing im sure its scratches in the glass from the inside. I think they tried to rough up the dots with somethin and that scratched it. I heard a noise that sounded like sanding when I was waiting so that was mostly likely what happened.

Ok I stopped in to the tint place today and he admitted he must of scratched it when he SANDED it with 1000 grit yeh like sand paper isnt going to scratch it. Anyway it bothers the **** out of me and im not sure what to do. What do most guys on here do???? Do most you guys have it tinted over the dots or what. The only thing I can think to do is have the tint removed over the dots then try to paint it. If I was to do that im afraid it would not stick is there a trick to it or a special paint I can use?? I need help cause it drives me crazy im such a perfectionist about the external look of my car.

You can get paint to stick to glass... as for how do do it, I don't know, I just know that it can be done, and look just like tint.

Im still not sure how to go about it I might ask for partial money back and hopefully I can fix it. I could ask for a full refund and to have him pull the tint off but I would not want him to do that he said it would be a pain then he might mess up my window even more. Im just sooo disappointed thought these guys were suppose to be really good. Im not even too happy with the side windows to much of a gap around the edge.

They replace the windows on your roush? If I was to have the tint removed from the dots and paint it do you think it would cover the scratches?

Hell yea they replaced my sh*t. Yes. The scratches were on the outside too. My side rear windows got scratched where the frame around the transparent glass was painted black and you saw it worse. Just make him replace it and get black vinyl. Also, make sure the tint stops before the dots and let it dry for 3 to 4 days. Once it is completely dry get vinyl. ALOT of tint places make the mistake to throw the tint and vinyl on at the same time. So when the water evaporates to the top of the tint the H20 and o2 get stuck in the vinyl resulting in bubbles. That back window is going to cost grip with the defroster lines. Correct me if I am wrong, I think its $500 from the dealership?

p.s. Those really dont look like sctraches. Run your finger nail over the glass and feal for a divit. Also if they are good enough there will be .01 of an inch gap on the top; damn near flush.

Yeh I ran my finger over them from the inside im pretty sure they are light scratches from the 1000 grit. Does anyone know if I painted the dots if it should cover the scratches? If i was to get the glass replaced how you think I should go about that. I dont want to call just any window place I want it done right. Should I call the dealership you think?

after an attempt of having my rear window tinted and it looking horrible up there i decided to paint it...all i did was wash the area off with acetone then tape off to the top defroster line then painted with black high heat paint(not really needed) and had the back re-tinted...has looked great for almost a year now

Nothing better than getting into your car on a hot summer day when it smells like spray paint! Dont let the tint guy walk all over you or your SS.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/647166-tint-guys-need-some-help.html

there's a lot of pictures on that page that show that paint does stick to the glass, its all about preparation so just don't skip anything.
