Default I fu*ked up tonight

on my way home and i wrecked the z28. i side swiped a telephone pole, i dont know if its a total loss or not. what should i do. i have to call my insurance company tommrrow and i dont know if they will cover it or not. i didnt get a citation but i hope they cover it. anyone have ideas on what i should do? do you think they will cover it? thanks.

Why wouldn't they cover it? Do you have comprehensive or only liability?

Damn

If you have fulll coverage they'll cover it regardless (minus deductable)

If you only have liabilty you're screwed regardless.

I know it sucks a big one... but at least you get to shop for a new whip!

well im assuming you are pannicing b/c you dont have full coverage, in which case you are big trouble, but g'luck and if they do cover it I can almost guarantee you it will be totaled.....

thats good that you have full coverage. most states require that you have full coverage on a vehicle that has a lien against it to protect their assets.

if the damage is over a certain percentage of what it is worth = total my truck was stolen then found, the *** holes tore it up past a certain percentage of what it was worth so they totaled it and cut me a check that I refused cause they were trying to rip me off we went back and forth over a month before I was happy

its really up to the insurance company they can a repair a car up to 125% damage if they want most of the time they just write it off as a total loss

+1 on what were you doing, also if it is totaled don't take the first quote they give you do some research find cars that were similar to yours and make sure your getting what you should, they will most definitely try to low ball you

i got cut off and loss control and taged a pole. i talked to the body shop and they said it is most likly totaled. i will not take there check if they try to low ball me, thanks for the input. it suckes 4 hours detailing for nothing.

yeah when they total it ask them how much the buy back is. then you take the check they gave ya and pay to the buy back(usually MUCH less then what they gave you for it) and take it to shop of your choice. If you can, do alot of the work yourself to help cut down on cost's. Then take the leftover and mod the **** outta it I also felt bad reading it. It sucks

i think if i can buy it back cheap enough, i will take the motor and trans and put it in my 1980 camaro. i have to wait and see.
