Default Question about CD Changer harness wire..

I've been having problems with my harness wire that leads to the cd changer for awhile now. I first had the cd harness wire extended (and later serviced) by an installer and a service tech when I relocated my changer for a subwoofer. I later developed fading in the right channel (only with the cd changer) that would sometimes produce a choppy signal and static, and sometimes would completely fade out. I swapped changers thinking that it would solve the problem....>>> low and behold, it wasn't the changer.

My question is should I try and put on another extension from a harness lead, or just have someone look at it again and tell me what's wrong? Any input would be appreciated (I've had this problem a long time!).
