Default Girl_needs_transmission_advice

So to make a long story short I was trying to come back home to Houston from Dallas today and my transmission took a dump. I lost 3rd and 4th. I got my car towed back to Dallas. Now I need some help finding a good shop to get the transmission worked on. It is an automatic.

So who does good transmission work in the Dallas/Garland/Richardson area and wont charge an arm and a leg?

American Auto Salvage has a trans with 68k on it for $430, 800-562-5986. Buy it from them and have whoever you want install it. I don't know any of the speed shops over there but it's only 4-5 hours labor to install a trans. Make sure they flush the trans cooler though or you'll be buying another one before you make it back to Houston.

Or if you don't mind towing the car to the Fort Worth the only transmission shop I've had good luck with is Mikus Transmission, 817-496-0996. We send all of our warranty customers to him and never have a problem. It'll be a whole lot cheaper than Aamco or Cottman and you'll get better work.

Thanx for the replies! A friend of mine hooked me up with a guy out in Rowlett that he gets all his transmissions rebuilt by. Dropped it off Tuesday and expecting it to be ready by 5 today.
