Default tough/slow shifting?

I just picked up a 99 ls1 6 speed, and the shifting seems to take about 50% more effort than my 95 lt1 6 speed and doesn't engage near as quickly either. The 99 has a new master, centerforce df clutch (which engages perfect and smooth), and a pro 5.0 shifter.

Is that normal? Will the drill mod fix that?

That sounds exactly like my trans that has about 40k on the clock since the rebuilt T56 was installed. It recently has gotten difficult to shift smoothly and quickly, and the pump is whining, doing all sorts of weird **** when I go to put it on ramps or go in reverse for any appreciable distance.

I think I've pretty much toasted my fluid, so I'm putting in some fresh Mobil 1 ATF (per the advice I received here) on Saturday.

I would replace the tranny fluid first.

Does it do it all the time or only after you go WOT?
