Default Whats the best rust remover and preventer for my 67 camaro

I just purchased a 67 camaro. My plans for it are either going to be an LS1 with a T56 or an LS2. But right now Im stripping the car down and I wanted to see what the best rust remover and what spray to use to prevent the rust from coming back. I've read a lot online about sprays that convert the rust into different compounds, but I wanted to get your opinions and see what experiences you have had with some of the products out there. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I thought plastic media wasn`t abrasive enough to remove rust? Thought it was only good for paint.

When I painted my car I had the doors, fenders, and tailgate acid dipped. It worked great for getting rid of all the rust, but it also got rid of the protective coating in the seams. I shot everything full of epoxy primer till it ran out the seams, but now the rust is coming back in the seams . It has been ~5 years and the car is a year round daily driver.

If it is thick metal I prefer to sandblast. I also would like to try loading my sandblaster with baking soda as I have heard that is a great media for sheetmetal, but I have not found a cheap source of baking soda yet.

to remove rust i would use aCoarse Walnut or glass depending on how deep it might go.

I like using Por-15 or Rust Bullet, Por-15 being way more expensive

glass bead blasting works great to get rid of rust, just be careful not to blow through it, and ive always loved POR-15 to prevent rust...covers extremely well and easy and lasts a long time

Best rust preventer is to stay in SOCAL.

As long as you stay out of the northeast "rust belt", any decent automotive paint will take care of the car.
