cooling light question

Default cooling light question

hey guys my buddy has a 98 z and his water pump gave out recently and i replaced it. this was about a month ago and has been running cool and everything since. but the other day the low coolant light came on and stays on,whats going on any guesses? like i said it runs cool and good and the coolant level is perfect thanks guys

Provided the wiring is not hacked up or something, the sensor itself may have failed.

hmm didnt think about that. that is on the resivior correct? and your refering to the resivior wiring as well correct? thanks

No, the one on the rad cap side right under it. It's a square looking sensor. Unplug the connector wire pull the retainer clip off and remove it. Clean it real good on the inside put it back in. It might just be full of crud that's all. If that doesn't fix it replace it. Their like $24 at the dealership.

Had the same prob a while back.

make sure its plugged in , i have seen many people unplug them and forget to replug it.

If it was unplugged low coolant light wouldn't light up.
