Default Oil Pressure ?

You guys with Cams or anyone for that matter what is your Oil pressure at idle? When crusing say in sixth with 17-1900 rpm?

I have noticed when the white turd is hot. The pressure will twitch between 37 and 40 psi, when crusing it is between 43-50 PSI. At WOT it dosen't go over about 64 PSI.

I was just wondering. I am running Amsoil 10W30.

I think that's higher than normal for idle, but I'll let the experts chime in.

Your pressure looks good from the info you gave. At WOT mine is at around 60psi or slightly under. At cold and maybe at 2000rpm it will be at around 55-58psi til it warms up then it drops. Which is more than fine by me. You don't need anymore pressure than really this. It just adds heat and costs power.

In the summer time with an outside of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit mine, after warm-up at idle will go down real real low.At idle I've seen mine get around 30.

How about "hypocardriac" (mutters to self)...sounds about right for a stocker LT1, never noticed much difference than you described with the camaro.

Same with mine, usually a bit above 40 at idle though. Useing M1 10-30.

I would like to ask a similar question, I run Royal Purple 5w30 and at idle, hot and warm temp outside I see mine at 34-38 psi... Is that acceptable or should I go to M1 / Amsoil ?

That's absolutely fine man! You could go a whole hell of alot lower at idle and be more than fine. It's your intended RPM range and the max psi. My oil pressure gets like that .

I'm running Mobil 1 5w30, bone stock motor, and on Saturday that's pretty much exactly where my oil pressure was, except that it wouldn't go that high at WOT, it would still stay in the mid 40s.
