Talking Dragstrip tonight. GREAT NIGHT

Well went out to irwindale tonight again and well I was very happy. Went out the first runs just trying a few different things. launching little different, manualy shifting, longer stage, shorter stage all that junk. Well anyways heres how it went.

1. 8.4@85/2.0 60 foot.
second race of the day it was hot and track hadnt been warmed up yet.

2. 8.2@85.5/1.96 60'
regular run consistent with how it usually is.

3. 8.30@85.2/1.97 60'
accidently pulled down into second when it shifted to drive right at the end of the strip

4. 8.25@86.6/1.945 60'
Manual shifting, and it was cooling down, ran almost a full MPH faster than usual (.70)

5. 8.33@85.8/1.96 60'
Not sure exactly what I did that run but ran a little slower for some reason

AND HERE WE GO NEW PB AND SOMETHING I AM QUITE HAPPY ABOUT ON JUST A LID MUFFLER AND GEARS!!!

R/T .547
60' 1.928
330 5.352
1/8 8.18
MPH 86.28

Here is how that went. I go to warm up the tires start pulling up to prestage and the guy stops me, I guess someone dropped something way down on the track so the official truck went to get it. Well I thought my last run of the night and had my friend who was taking pictures ask the official if I could warm up the tires again, it took a few mins for the truck to get back out of the way. He says why, my friend BSes a little and says Im going for 7's on stock motor full weight. The guy goes oh yeah yeah go for it! So I pull back and give it the light smoke treatment and pull it almost to the staging block. Im running 245 Kumho ecsta street tires by the way. So I am now lined up and ready to go. So I give it hell and make it down the track and it felt pretty good. Well I come back get the ticket and see 8.1 and I was like so I pull back and my friend is laughing and jumping around for me yelling 8.1 haha. I guess the official was asking him about it said you sure that thing is stock motor and he said yup and full weight 3600 lbs (with me in it roughly) He was pretty impressed too I guess.

The main thing for the day was RTs so I had a .507 and .509 and slowest RT of the night was a .568 so I was content with that, still want to get a perfect light though, best ever was .504, getting there but not quite

Have not yet even looked at the pictures from tonight so I will do that and if there is any good ones I will upload as usual

I remember you, I was talking to you, the one asking if you were running nitrous. I will be getting a Yank SS4k stall and MT ET Streets. The previous owner on that exact setup ran consistent 7.5. Although on this setup I am on right now, I heard from one of his friends he couldnt get past 8.300. But not sure about that one. He pulled consistent 1.5 60' foots on the et streets and stall by the way.

Yeah thanks marlon, seems I dont need to mod, I get faster every time I am out there. just kidding I can't resist. Not gaining any HP from the mods though. I do need to get that tune though haha, considering the car has never been dyno tuned, really almost untouched.

Yea...you're doing a good job out there. I have never been to the track and need to go one day. That tune shoud really help you out.

When are you getting the stall and spray from your friend?

Getting the stall from Yank and then buying the spray and he is putting it in. Within the month hopefully the stall and tires will be on. Then spray will be after that. Maybe next month?

I was there tonight, I had the 02 SS that I was going to run. Unfortunately on the way there, the trans decided to get stuck in 4th gear, so I was only watching. I may have talked to you? I dont remember, there were so many camaros there it was awesome. Flash I think I saw your GTO run and that thing flew! Sounded good too.

Were you the other pweter Z28? I saw you last night taking pics. any of my car?

I will be there again next week, hopefully with the 3.73 12 bolt.

My best was a 8.03 @ 89.4 mph..

I ran 8.1s all night. I was launching at over 4000 RPM @ 15 psi on bald nittos.

AH it was you i was talking to! I'm surprised how strong your car was running. Hey why did the tech guy stop you on that one run after the burnout? You did a fat burnout lol it was awesome. I thought he was yelling at ya for an excessive one but then he started checking your exhaust tips? I had the black 02 ss that was stuck in 4th gear .
