how much ground clearance will i loose with a set of boxed subframe connectors. looking at slp and possilby rpm speed.

i'm also looking to lower the car too...not much, about 1 1/2 to 2 inches and only for racing (adjustable air suspension)....will boxed SFCs be a problem here???

You will have a very marginal loss, be more concerned with lt, ypipe clearance, I have the BMR boxed sfc's and they never come close to bottoming out.

I had SLP SFC's on my 2002 and if I drug anything, it was the stock exhaust. SFC's simply don't drag. Everyone seems to be hung up on the ground clearance of each brand, but it's just not an issue and my car was fairly low. I'd hit the passengers side y pipe hanger and the y pipe before I ever hit the SLP SFC's. Buy the ones you like best and worry about your exhaust clearance, not the SFC's, they're a non-issue.

I have Hotchkiss SFC's...you can't see them at all unless you get level with the bottom of the car, and then mine are 1/4" below frame.

at the installuniversity.com's website, I think they are using BMR's boxed subframe connectors and it is clearly seen from a standing distance. There is still ground clearance but because Camaro's don't come with a side skirt like the Trans Am's, it is visible and this is something you should take into consideration. All I know is that the UMI's tubular subframe connectors tuck up VERY good.

I didn't say you couldn't see SFC's, just that they (even my SLP's) aren't the lowest part of the car and they never drug on anything because I'd have smashed other stuff first.

I had the SLP boxed bolt ins. I was only slightly lowered (koni lower perch and hose mod w stock springs). I drug them on weird driveways. You can actually see them haning below my car in my sig pic and in some of my pics on the link. I ended up taking mine off.

I agree that exhaust may cause u bigger problems, but I would suggest you consider another SFC design than SLP if ground clearance is a consern. Maybe UMIs-they tuck up nice.

Just installed my boxed sfc (the welded kinds) and I have no clearence issues whats so ever. Noticed a great deal of improvement on the road too. Its real quiet now inside the car while driving. woohoo.

I've got the UMI 3 point SFC's and honestly, they don't hang low at all.. the little support brace in the center at stock location hangs lower than they do before I moved it to mounted on the SFC's ... so now it still hangs a little lower. my Y pipe and headers tuck up quite nice and are maybe equal to the lowest point on the SFC's if not slightly lower.

my boxed BMRs didn't have any affect on my clearance, granted i've got the factory GFX package.

All SFC's (Hotchkis, BMR, UMI, etc) work the same I suppose, it doesn't really matter which one I get for my car, right?

the only considerations to take into account are if your car is a convertible, or you intend to run true dual exhaust, you may not want to go with the 3-point SFC's (i don't think you really can at all on the convertibles, or if you can, they may have to be specially made for convertibles).....but as far as the 2-point SFC's, it shouldn't really matter
