Default LT1 intake manifold questions- Please help

Ok- i had the stock LT1 intake manifold on my 94 z28. I bought another one figuring that an LT1 intake manifold is an LT1 intake manifold-

But after i got it all bolted on & throttle body on , gaskets bolted & RTV'd down, EGR block offs on - i mean COMPLETELY ON- I went to put on the fuel rail and then discovered that this manifold doesnt have the groove in the top for the fuel rail.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what car - i.e.- corvette, caprice, camaro, buick roadmaster, cadillac broughnam...etc. this manifold came off of. and possibly what year?

Also- under the TB spot on my 94 manifold there is a vaccum port. On this one there is nothing.

Please help i am very confused. I was going to have the car running this weekend, but apparently not since i dont have the right manifold. This one has already been ported & painted & polished

it sounds like you got a 93 camaros intake. the fuel rails on the 93 are a little different, they go around the intake

Well- If you lived here in indy I would say- Hell yeah. but i doubt you live anywhere close..- So earlier tonight i started on the stock one i originally took off my car. Wow- port matching w/a dremel sux!

The black 93 LT1 manifold is ported to a 58mm tb, and the runners are portmatched to Felpro intake gaskets. Porting on this intake was done by Portworx Performance. www.portandpolishing.com if you want to see some of thier work..

Oh, $50 for a ported intake? That I might have to think about since I have a 58mm I need to install. I had just planned to port it while on the car as per the instruction on this site I found.

Porting While on the car!!!!! Yikes, that scares me because little metal shaving in the engine is what killed mine. Granted they were in the bottom and spun a bearing but. for the price of an intake that you can recoup by selling your own, the time not lost having your car down it you take it off to port it, the ease of woking on it alone makes it worth while.

I have a Red ported one, with polished rails that's the one I put on my car, It does look good I recommend it.

Thats what the link I found is for The guy did it w/o any shavings in the motor. You stuff a bunch of rags in it and then the front one is caked in bearing grease. They can't escape that Someone here did it like the guy did in that link, his came out great he said.
