Bellhousing broke. Shifting Problems

Bellhousing broke. Shifting Problems
I have a spec stage 2 clutch with about 10k miles and has started to slip in 3-6 going high speeds, but is fine from take off. Well I was shifting to 2nd from 1st at 6500 and would not go in for the world. I was changing my oil and noticed a decent size hole in my bellhousing. About the size of a baseball. Question is, would that cause my clutch to slip and hard shifting? I think the tranny is pulling from the motor a little and causing a problem. The bolt holes on the bellhousing look they are stripped also. What would cause this?

If your bellhousing has a crack or a hole in it then the alignment of the mainshaft to the crank is more than likely screwed up. Also a hole that big is going to allow contaminants to get on the clutch like oil, water, salt, dirt etc.... Short answer get a new bellhousing and clutch. Some of the sponsors might be able to help you with the bellhousing, if not gmpartsdirect.com has a pretty decent price on them.

You think the clutch is screwed? It doesnt slip all the time. It never slips 1st through 3rd, only when your in 6th and gas it hard or downshift. I think thats because its pulling away from block.

The clutch is probably slipping because it is on its way out. If the bellhousing is indeed separating from the engine when you push the clutch pedal, the slave may not be getting full extension and thus you will get engagement issues like you are describing.
