Default Vette less for 3 weeks now

I've been Vette less for 3 weeks now.My car is at Vette Doctors getting a new Motor, new wheels and tires too.I was looking on one of the fourms and saw a add which said "Fresh 430ci for sale",So I gave him a call and we worked out a deal for the motor.I was also looking to change the look of my car so I started to look for new rims and tires,Rims was the easy part but had to find the right tires to support the new rwhp/rwtq which I'm not really sure of yet.I decided on B.F.Goodrich T/A KDW2.Next was finding a clutch, went with a Exedy twin disc. Also changed my headers to American Racing Headers.
Now is the hard part I have to wait till Vette Doctors dials in my new motor,Its in the car and it runs but it has not been tuned yet.I know that Carmen,Dennis and Joey are doing a GREAT job and I know that I will not be dissapointed. But man I don't know how much longer I can wait.
When I get all my numbers in at the end of the week I willl let you know what they are and how it

not getting my car this week,Vette Doctors had an issue with my tune because of the big cam,now taken care of,also they don't like noise from clutch, they are going to change clutch, they know I would not be happy with the noise.I have to say that their service is Great.

I've been Vette-less for 21 years! On a side note, waiting for cars always sucks, but its all worth it once you have it back!

I always hate the time my car is down. Have you tried the exedy twin disc yet? Reason I ask is my buddy has one in his vette and that is super heavy pedal. You should love the ARH though I have them sound great and perform better.

I went with the Iforged Areos in hyper black with B.F.goodrich T/A KDW2s 18s all around,I still have not seen them on the car yet ,he is installing them either today or Monday. The clutch pedal is very heavey but we don't like the cladder noise caused by such a light weight clutch,he is changing clutch out today to a Spec twin disc,a little heaver in weight, but he said will be alot less cladder noise,I guess I will see on Monday

Tell Carmen you want to go with a set of 3.90's out back....I'll swap for your 3.42's if they are low mileage and in good condition.

I wouldn't take a spec clutch if you paid me to. I have the exedy twin disk and yes there is a bit of chatter at first, but after awhile it goes away and is whisper quiet. The clutch I have has about 6000 miles on it or so, and is flawless. PM V-Series Tech and ask him about his experiences with SPEC. Give the Exedy Twin plate a chance, worth every penny if you ask me.

allngn_c5,it's an LS7 block,Eagal Crank,Wiesco pistons comp ratio 11:8:1,Custom Spec Cam 244 250 646 on a 112 ,LSA,Ported LS7 heads done by LME flow 385@.650,double roller timing chain, comp dauls springs with Tit retainers,lS7 rockers with Harlan sharp rocker mod.Comp chrome moly pushrods 3/8 ,ported LS7 intake,American Racing Headers,I believe that covers it, I just got it back on Monday ,It's still not running 100% yet,It runs great on parkway ,you can feel the power,I was told not to go over 5000 rpm,s till after re-tune at 500 miles,it's kind of rough at low ideal and low speed, also I'm not use to new clutch, the pedal is very high,Spec twin disc,I've put about 60miles on it so far but I think I'm going to be living in it this weekend.

Well I'm not doing too good,Took my car out yesterday and was doing about 30mph when the car started to shake and felt like I was loosing power, slowed down and car felt like it was loading up and going to stall.I pulled over and just let her idel and heard a loud knocking sound.I crawled home, only about a mile.Called tow truck to bring car back to Vette Doctors to see what the problem was.
Car was picked up this morning and delievered to Vette Doctors ,Talked to Carmen said stop by after work and we'll see what s going on.

Pulled valvue covor off and found #8 intake pushrod loose, rocker was tight, push rod was not bent so they pulled the head found that the retaining ring on the lifter came off and the valve hit piston and bent intake valve,no damage to piston but the head has to be sent out to have the guide repaired and the new valve seated.Keeping my fingers crossed that there is nothing else wrong in motor, also I have to thank Carmen for wanting to wait for 500miles before dynoing car,I got lucky there.
.
