Default My ls7 Clutch Setup is GARBAGE!

I have had it with my ls7 clutch, i had problems with the pedal sticking to the floor under accel last year. Over the winter i had the flywheel resurfaced, new slave and master, drill mod, heat wrapped clutch line and i had it at the track yesterday its CRAP. Soft pedal cant get it into 3rd. I only had one decent pass the first pass. I am considering going to a th400.
Isnt it way more expensive to buy a dual disk clutch and upgrade manual tranny?

It looks as if you have the gears to have a decent highway cruise as wel. You have a transbrake? Lockup? Just seeing how streetable it is.

I know exactly what you guys are talking about. I have probably 150 passes on my ls7 clutch and it started staying to the floor at the end of a pass. The next time out I couldn't get into 3rd sometimes or 4th but the car drives fine on the street. Check out this bulletin from gm. Bulletin No.: 06523B it basically says that some of the first ls7 clutch sets had an improperly machined flywheel that wouldn't let the clutch adjust after time. Also it says that the centrifugal forces above 6000 rpm can be too great for some of the pressure plates to overcome. Of course the pedal goes soft and goes to the floor. Personally I am getting another one with the new part numbers. I have run high 10's with conservative 1.6x 60 fts. I would rather spend more time driving than fixing diffs with faster short times. These are the part numbers listed in the bulleting. new clutch kit, P/N 24233084 (LS2) P/N 24236500 (LS7) new flywheel (P/N 12571611). I hope this helps. Good Luck

Thats crazy. I have had mine for over a year daily driven & never had a problem on stock 99' hydrolics. We installed mine while half drunk in a driveway. Bled it the next day with the Mityvac & haven't messed with it since.

I don't see how so many people have problems with this set-up. It bolted in exactly like a stock clutch. No shims or any of that crap.

Just to clear some of these numbers up so people don't go ordering the wrong parts...

24233084 has been superseded to 24237691 which is an LS2 pressure plate, I don't know why you'd want it.
24236500 has been superseded to 24238412 which is the LS7 pressure plate with disc.
12571611 is the LS2/7 flywheel.

Do you have your sales receipt from Franks And Beans? If so, take the clutch to your local GM dealer with said receipt and try to get it warrantied. It has a GM warranty (12month 12K miles IIRC). It'd be worth a shot!
