converter plug supplied with HPP 3
Hi everyone!
I've bought a Hypertech Power Programmer a while ago and was wondering about the adaptor plug supplied with it - Its the part that plugs into the car's dashboard connector on one side (16pin) and a D-16 connector on the other side.
Judging from the adaptor plug's weight I'm assuming it has at least some electronics inside. Could it be that it converts the car microprocessor's signals to RS-232 and that the actual HPP3 unit uses RS-223?
Just thinking... It would make sense because using RS-232 inside the programmer could be easyer/cheaper for Hypertech... If anyone's else is interested and no one knows the answer I might hook the adaptor up to a scope or even open it up.
Thanks and take care.
