Default Anyone been to Guadalupe River yet?

Just wanted to know if the water was at a decent level? Is the water still freezing?

And are there any new rules such as the "no jello shots" that have been added?

I heard last night that the rivers are flowing very fast right now as all the dams are open from all the recent rain. The Guadalupe is always cold but tolerable.

The Guadalupe is very high and fast right now due to the open flood gates at Canyon Lake. I'd stick to the Comal right now.

The release out of Canyon Dam as of this morning if 800CFS, which is ideal for floating. With all of the rain in the hill country it has filled up the lake and the Guadalupe river should be perfect for floating this summer, unlike last year. I'm going down it on Memorial Day! Can't wait!

Gray, lets talk later next week. Seriously, lets float together. We're planning on going down the Guadalupe on Saturday, 5/26.

I am sure the wife would understand if you had an unexpected Business trip to the river that weekend

We will drink a few beers for you Dennis!

Lol, yeah we can't drink all that beer by ourselves. Surely Sheila would understand if you had to make a roadie, lol. Just kidding. Gotta take care of your responsibilities.

Has any of those laws been passed like 6 pack per person or more noise violation stuff? I keep hearing that they are trying to pass a crap load of stupid laws, but never hear if they passed vote or not?

Each person on both the Guadalupe and Comal can only have a 12-pack size cooler (no more large ice chests for the group). You cannot have any beverage containers 5oz. or smaller (jello shots). They are enforcing the decibel law, but I don't know exactly what that is.

Bottom line is, you better comply with the laws of the area or you'll get a ticket. I've seen the officers for years standing in the river monitoring the crowds floating and talked to one at length last year about how they go about their job. If you're cooperative everything will usually be cool. But if you get an attitude with the cops its a losing battle and you're only asking for trouble. Sometimes we can have a few brewskies and talk a little too much smack or get carried away cutting up, but we've got to remember that everyone is there to have fun and not get too carried away with things.

Yep, when we were at the Guad this past weekend. It was 15qt coolers per person. 18 to 20 beers will fit in a 15qt. Still enough to get most trashed. 4 of them will fit in a beer tube as well.

We shall see how bad it gets this year, but if you are not a belligerent ******* to the cops, AND you are of age, you should have no problems!
