Default check engine light came on at high speed

The other night I was running with a Camaro and we went to about 110mph. At a little past 100 my service engine light started blinking so I let off. A Few days later the same thing happened this time around 85mph. Today driving around town the light came on and is staying on. Any ideas what is throwing the check engine light? I have to take the car to the dealership soon to get the cat replaced. Could it be the bad cat?

Stop by auto zone and have them read the code(s) for free.

Don't think the o2's do much during a wide open throttle run. Probably picking up a knock or something.

Well I just got back from Auto Zone. It was throwing a P0420 code so it was in fact the cat. Hopefully Ill it get it to the dealership tomorrow and have it replaced.

Got the car back today. The light turned out to be from 2 bad spark plug wires. Apparently the piece of plastic that covers the wires slid up and a piece of metal had rubbed wires 1 and 3 causing them to arc. The dealer wanted $190 to replace the 2 wires . This will def be something I do on my own this weekend.

I originally took the car in to have a bad cat replaced under warranty. I cant believe the difference the cat makes. I was losing so much power on the low end with the bad cat on the car.
