Default will ls2 chain in ls1 throw of camtiming due to more sloppyness ?

i was wondering , when i fit a ls2 chain (as soon as i get my hands on one) this chain is reportedly a little loose on the ls1 sprockets.
so if this IS a little loose this will affect cam timing
and i cant seem to find a adjustable sprocket for the single ls2 chain setup ?

thanks, Jeejee

Perhaps just the OEM LS2 sprockets? Would they fit? If not I have heard about the LS2 chain only being sloppy on high mileage LS1 sprockets and that a new OEM one would fix that. Regardless so many people run the LS2 timing chain I'm sure there is a solution.

Never in the entire time I have been on here have I seen someone have a issue with the LS2 chain. Thats what I'll be using along with almost everyone I know, unless they dish out the money for a double roller set-up.

i didn't say there was or will be a problem, just curious if anybody checked the cam timing prior and after the ls2 chain install. (and not just dot to dot)
but max lift at xx degree crankrotation.. or lift at TDC
IF the ls2 chain it is a little more sloppy then a ls1 (on the ls1 sprockets) as is reported then so should cam timing be affected...

~ $60 for the whole LS2 setup, I think that warrants a matching set.

Why is the ls2 chain superior to the ls1 timing chain? They both look like ordinary chains to me...

it superseded it.. so when you goto the dealership, you get the LS2 stuff nomatter what.

as for sloppyness.... replace the gears with the chain. replacing the chain and not the gears is a shortcut IMO....

LS1 chains are pretty sloppy when new too. I don't think the LS2 chain is any more sloppy.

i compaired my 98 chain to the new LS2 chain i got from thunder racing... the LS2 links are thicker.. and the little rollers in between are thicker too.. this chain fits tighter than my LS1.. i should have taken a side by side close up so you could see what im talking about... but its installed now so.. sorry.

I found it. It's like $35 for the chain and $90 for the chain & sprockets

I think SDPC has it for cheaper
I got mine from LME, he cut me a deal since it came with the shortblock.
