Default Who would be best to spec a cam for sts?

I don't want to start any vendor bashing/flame war, etc., but I need to get someone to spec a cam for my car before I swap heads. I know their are several reputable shops that could do this, but since the STS turbo system has different backpressure and frictional losses in the pipes than a front mount setup, I would like to get a cam that takes this into account. I have some fairly specific info on head flow, setup, etc., as well as some fairly specific requirements for what I want the cam to do (not just max hp). I have an ls6 cam that I could just throw in and up the boost if I just wanted a big peak number, but I feel that I would be leaving a lot of midrange power on the table.

We had a customer do a lingenfelter cam that had a lot more exhaust duration, something like 208/220....and the car idled like a dream with no tuning and made 500rwhp on 6psi. I've tried to find the exact specs on it again but I cant seem to. See what they recommend. Some will say go bigger intake duration, some will say the opposite.

Ed Curtis did mine for my application. Gave him the specs and he ran with it. I'll post numbers when she's running but with so many other mods I won't have before and after sheets.

Thanks for the input from everyone. I figure if I am going to pay for a cam, I may as well have one ground that takes into account the actual measured head flow and other specific parts on my motor. Unless, of course, an off the shelf cam just happens to match what I need.

Actually I have a GTO, and I have a ridiculous bizarre work schedule, so I have no clue if I will be in town for that or not. Making good money is cool, but never being able to plan anything more than 2 days in advance sucks.

TRT has some good cams, i like mine. 115 LSA is nice idle, yet it holds boost like no other. 570+ lift on both int and exh. over 220 dur on both

Anyone ever notice this??????

01 ZO6 cam: 204/211 .525/.525 -116 LSA
Lingenfelter GT2 205/212 .540/.540 –116.5CL

02-03 ZO6 cam: 204/218 .551/.547 -117.5 LSA
Lingenfelter GT2-3 207/220 .571/.578 –118.5CL

05-07 ZO6 cam 210/230 .561/.557 –120.5 LSA
Lingenfelter GT7 208/230 .554/.546 –121CL

Pretty simular don't you think? I would go with the 05-07 ZO6 cam if it will work in a LS1. But the 02-03 is popular too. You can either for $100 to $150 bucks and they will drive like stock. Can't beat that. Or... Lingenfelter has the GT2-3 on sale right now for $250!! I'm gonna guess it has a more aggressive lobe profile and different ICL.

Does anyone know how the LSA and ICL are different and how they affect power/driveability? Thanks.

Interesting idea you had there, ddnspider. What lobes would that involve?
