Default LT1 Questions?????

I have a couple of ? Can I run a Gen 1 SBC pan on an LT1? I know LT1s are internal balance but can I put an External Balanced rotating assembly in the LT1 block? What about using a 2 piece seal crank and getting an adapter? WHat is the stock deck height for an lt1? I have an old school 383 stroker setup that is external balance and I would like to build a LT1 with it. What do you guys think?

You can use a Gen I Oil Pan if you don't want the low-oil Sensor..stock deck height is about .017"-.025" below deck..I would build it internal balance, alot better to work with..

Any technical reasons why internal is better?

If you think about it.. it's balanced throughout, instead of it depending on the balancer on the front..

That is true. Never thought of the balance of the whole assembly being on the balancer only.

Plus, you might as well have the rest of your rotating assembly balanced so the motor rev's like a bolt of lightning.
