Default weird T56 problem!

hey i bought my car with this problem and my car had 25,000 miles on it at the time....

the whole transmission shifts fine....no prbolem getting it into any gear at all...no noises nothing....UNTIL you put it in 5th....sometimes it will grind a bit and spit the shifter back out....and other times if you put it in 5th and let out on the clutch while HOLDING IT IN GEAR (minimal force) you will feel the shifter give a pop and then it will hold the gear fine and drive like a dream...it doesnt seem to do it all the time...prolly about half the time....i dont use 5th much anyways but if there is a major problem then i want to fix it before i loose my warrenty...what do you all think?

Sounds like its definetly a prob with your 5th gear assymbley. Being that it is in warranty I would no doubt have it checked out.

Well you need to allow more than 5 hour before giving up.
well your likely have at least some torn up shift fork pads. Possibly slider keys as well.
But you wont know anything till you pull the trans & tear it apart.
gonna need to do that inorder to diagnose & fix it anyway.
There's another 5 hours
