my knock sensors donīt work, need help
I have installed a 422 iron block.
On my WOT test runs with 31° timing I didnīt see any knock retard on AUTOTAP.
I now upped the timing to 34° to see what it does.
I do hear knock (sounds like stable exhaust rattle), but AUTOTAP doesnīt show it
Now how can I find out if the sensors are the problem, or if I did something wrong with the connectors.
Or maybe the problem is in the wire somewhere?
How can I test that???
Need help on that!!
Thanks,
Michael

Re: my knock sensors donīt work, need help
Do you have a custom program...who did it?
I just configed it for the added cui, programmed the idle tables and the IFR table.
I also did desensitise the low and mid rpms misfire tables because of my 236/240 cam didnīt want to let my TC lock up.
Any way to test the Knock sensors, or if the PCM getīs any reading??

I would not mess with 34 degrees of timing unless you are running 100 octane.
In my car I made very little more rwhp with additions of timing.
At the end I made 475rwhp/505rwtq with 26 degrees of timing.
Stroke also affects timing too.
Just driving around you should see a little KR here and there, like .9 etc.

I did try EASE instead of AUTOTAP and found up to 4 degrees KR on WOT.
When I reatrd timing 4 degrees, I see 2° maximum , on some rpmsīonly.
I did just up the timing to see if my knock sensors work, but they seem to work. Just AUTOTAP didnīt see the KR somehow.
Iīm now back at 29° maximum and that seems to be perfect.
But I donīt see any knock retard (like .9) on normal driving ?!??
BTW, Iīm running 94 octane pump gas on 11:1 CR.
Thanks,
Michael
