Default Transmission Rebuilt Questions/Concerns

Ive decided to go ahead and rebuild my trans in my 99 TA, with roughly 95k miles I figured now is a good time to do it and would give me the piece of mind just in case I do decide to sell it..

What should this run me? I was quoted $1500 yesterday but that seemed steep to me..

Also, Im thinking about swapping back to a stock stall (from a 2800). The mechanic bout **** a brick when I told him the stall, saying that it was way too high

He is offering me a 12/12 warranty though, any thoughts?

Well if your looking for a stock rebuild with the possible intent of selling the car then the price sounds fair. As for the stall comment though its obvious he does not know much about performance transmissions or cars

I figured that out right away The only choice now is to decide if I wanna put in a higher stall or go back stock

does that price include r & r? If so I guess it's reasonable, but a little high for a stock rebuild, but that's pretty steep if you're bringing the trans to him.

That isn't too bad including the R&R, IF they include a converter (stock form), and do all of the updates on it.
