Default Convert power steering to manual?

How much weight does itsave to remove the P/S pump, and block off the lines at the rack? Any way to do this other that a $500 manual rack? TIA, Shawn

I did the "poor man's" way...

I removed the power steering pump, and looped the two hydraulic lines from the steering rack back to each other.

Total weight loss isn't much (7lbs?), but every little bit adds up, the PS pump eats up HP (again, not but a tiny bit), and it cleans up the engine compartment a bit.

No doubt a true manual rack (like Madman sells) would be better all around, but they aren't cheap.

I did the madman rack. very nice piece and EXCELLENT customer service!
