Default Tranny finally crapped out

After months of in not wanting to shift at WOT, it finally has had it. I was driving to work today and I started to accelerate and the tranny started vibrating and chattering violently. So I keep driving to work which was a little over a mile away. So on my way home about the same place it messed up earlier dismorning, it stopped going. I know have to convience my dad to let me put a new tranny in it that wont tear up again. It has been in the shop numerous times before and I have no confidence in the guy that I sent it to today. Only reason I sent it there is b/c my dad wants this guy to work on it and I want it back before G11. While the 2 hour wait on the tow truck driver I talked to Frank at PerformaBuild and hopefully that will be the route I will be taking. Just the money situation I limiting me. Wish me luck.

Thanks for the compliment. I try my best to keep it looking good. I was on your web site and was looking at the one with a 2500 stall. It that honestly worth the price difference without one? Also the price difference were a little bit lower on the site. I also forgot to ask how long it would take to ship to Georgia. Thanks man!

I went through milledgeville one time and DAMN you have a ton of hills there. I'd think that has something to do with it.

Milledgeville sucks, but I really like the school.

You should always replace the converter in a high milage unit that fails. Personally though I would not get the 2500 which is and OEM restall , When just for a little more I could get one of the 9.5 3000 converters and get a real performance increase with a real custom built performance converter.
Oh and on the shipping to georga if you purchased today or tomorow at latest you would likley have it before next week end.Though no one can truley know the mind of fedex.

Unfortunately for me the difference in the price between the 2500 and 3000 stall is too much for my situation. I am not sure what the tranny guy has found out yet. So I might talk to him about installing the one from you.

If need be, can I have the tranny rushed and pay the difference if it is not overwhelming? I really want the car back before Memorial Day weekend.

I was also reading some post about stalls. I have to admit I like the stock stall feel. It jumps when you tap the gas. i am not so sure if the higher stall will be my cup of tea. I rather not gain .3 sec on teh strip, and have the jump feeling form the stock stall. As for the mileage of the car, I think a 20-2500 stall I would go with.

Get the Stall---preferably about 3400---- you won't regret it at all. performance gains are awesome. It will take a few days to get used to it but when you do you won't look back! I am now currently awaiting delivery of a level 2 from performabuilt to match up with my Fuddle 3400.
Milage remained the same for me with the stall. It was the cam that killed me on gas milage, lol. BTW--.3 on the strip means alot when this racing world is measured by fractions of seconds. Good luck!
