Default Need Repair on TH400 in Houston...

My dad just bought a 1970 Olds 442 with a 455/TH400/12Bolt. The car runs well is in REALLY good shape. Only issue is that the tranny shifts extremely hard. I mean it really jerks you around on the upshifts. It seems the slower you do the harder it shifts. It does not slip at all and shifts quick, but like I said it's just really rough. Im not sure if there is any differences between the older style TH400 and the current ones but this one came factory. What would be the best local shop to take it too?

It think for now we might have got it figured out. We replaced the vacuum lines going from the modulator to the manifold and it seems to have gotten better. This weekend we will replace the modulator itself and see if that does the trick. If not ill be looking for a shop. Thanks guys.
