Default 280z ls1 swap

hi. new here and just wanted to introduce my self. Im about to swap a ls1 into my 75 280z. Ls1 came out a 2002 camaro ss with 18k on it. Was able to get a t56 tranny and the rear end as well, (not going to need the rear end thou). Im mostly on hybridz.org with the same sn. right now i have almost everything i need, just need to get a speartech wiring harness, radiator and some other minor stuff. the car still has the l6 right now thou. Mods are headers, intake, adjustable shocks, azc lowering springs, swap bars, 17 x 7.5" rims, braided brake lines, 240sx dash and lots of cosmetic stuff (i know, i know i started backwards). DIdnt really do much to the engine because i knew i was just going to end up going with a v8. While im doing the v8 swap i will also get 6piston wilwood brakes and eventually go with coilovers. Opinions and suggestions are welcome.

that 280 is sweet. I've been considering one for my next project with an LSX swap as well. I hear with the right info and a little reasearch and patience, the swap isn't that hard but the performance gains are otherworldly. Good luck, and keep us updated!

That is the cleanest ZCar I have ever seen. Should be sweet when you are done. I never realized how smoothe the LS motors were until my Mazda fired up. I'll be looking for you on hybridz.

Gorgeous car man, color and body work is top notch. Id take a few bends out of that intake though, leave the filter mounted where that 2nd 90* bend is you'll draw in more hot air but will have a better airflow. You might fab up a heat shield or something to block off the filter to help knock down some of that heat soak as well.

thanks for the comments guys. The dash is from an s13 and i love it. Videos will follow one i get the issues worked out. yea the intake is def something i want to work on. i might weld up something out of piping that flows and looks better, but for now this should do. hosestly i miss driving it. ive been working on it for 7monthes now so i figure i can work on that small stuff as i drive it.

anywho. thanks for the comments. any other recommendations or comments are welcome.

Did you use a mount kit, or did you make your own? Also you need some wider wheels with that new LS1 power..

the front was a mount kit. the transmission mount was my custom mount. I already have new wheels that are 17x9.5 in the rear and 17 x 8 in the front. I just need to switch over to coil overs and do a few suspension mods to get them to fit under stock fenders.

all in time....

Man, great looking car. First thing I thought of was a wide body kit to tuck some serious rubber under it.
