Dude your gonna need a converter. I had an lt1 with a hot cam with no stall and it needed one. It was way smaller than your. Buy a stall, there not that expensive. They are about 300-400 and are well worth it.

I would not even bother installing that cam until you have a new converter. I'd guess 3500rpm or better.

With the stock converter your not even gonna get it to idle in gear.

I ran my ASA cam on the stock converter for awhile (was planning on a t56 swap but it fell through) and it sucked. It won't idle in gear, you'll have to put it in neutral when coming to a stop. Acceleration below 3000rpm will be lackluster at best. It can be done, but I wouldn't recommend it at all.

I drove my car around for 5 days with out a stall and it sucked car it would not idle and as soon as I would put it in gear it would take off. Never had a problem with power. Wait to get a stall and if you need a suggestion on one get the SS3600 from Yank imo.

Stock, maybe.

No really, why half *** it? You have a hard time idling, lose a bunch of pickup down low.

Why you even would think of it it beyond me. For auto people chalk up a stall as part of the install for a cam.

Match your stall and cam according, I do agree 3600 might be a pretty good size.

I had an 02 LS6 cam with stage two heads and 4:10's in an A4. It drove and idled fine, but you can tell it wanted a stall even with the gears.

I'm with the others though...do the stall first.

I've had my cam for a while now waiting on a converter b4 I install it. I would just wait. That way you can get the car tuned for everything at once also. It'll make life easier.

dont even waste the time or money putting that cam in there without a stall man!! save up to get the converter, cam installed at the same time. definitely go with alteast a vig 3200 or yank SS 3600 for sure.
