Default 95 4L80E from 4x4

I purchased a 4L80E transmission from a 95 chevy 2500 4x4. I plan on using it in a 2wd application for a camaro. Do I need to change the tail housing or any other pieces upon rebuild so it works in a 2WD rear wheel application? Also, if the tail housing needs to be replaced where could I pick one up and does the year of the tail housing make a difference?

You will need to change the output shaft. Also there is a freeze plug in the back of the case that will need to be removed and replaced with a seal with a small lube hole in it. This will allow for lube to the tail housing bushing. The tail housings are pretty much the same for the 2wd applications unless it was equipped with a parking break. Hope this helps. Vince
