I believe that the T-56 will bolt up. I've seen 6.0 cast iron blocks that maintained the T-56 after the engine swap. Should just bolt on...... I could be wrong

Any trans that will bolt up to an SBC can be made to bolt up to a Gen3/4 engine. If you want the easiest to mount setup, go with a 2001 and newer LQ4 with an LS1/6/7 clutch kit (flywheel, clutch, pressure plate), using a 1998-2002 F-Body T56.

t56 will bolt up, but must intall pilot bearing.in the crank
also lq4/lq9 engines that came with a 4l80e have .400 offset flexplate,
which they use a spacer on the crank before the flexplate.
this spacer and flexplate will allow the use of a 700r4/th350 or th400
gm chevrolet trans witha 10' convrter.
