Gears & Axles - Cost for Gear swap??

What is about the average price or what have you paid to have your gears swapped?

I wouldnt expect to pay over 175-200 for a bench job or 250-275 for in car... labor only.

All other parts are extra.

Just curious, how can you set backlash on the bench? I thought you had to have the gears installed to do this. Not speaking from experience, just from reading.

By bench he means with the rear out of the car versus having to work on it with the rear on the car still.

4-5 hours x shop rate + parts + tax = your total.

Yah i figured the total cost would be around $600. Hopefully i find someone through a friend who knows what they are doing and can get them in cheaper otherwise im not gonna spend $600 that could break in a couple weeks when id rather put it towards a 12 bolt
