Default Speartech question

I am doing a ls1 swap into my lt1 camaro and I already have the engine, kmember, steering rack, tranny, driveshaft, and the pcm and wiring for under the hood. Does speartech make some sort of wiring adapter so I can use all of my factory gauges and all? I have read and searched but I cant find anything that says you can definitely use your original dash gauges. Thanks for all the help guys!!

Just call John Spear. He would be the best, and quickest source of Speartech info. I do not believe you will be able to use your existing gauges without a bit of work though.

I just got a reply from him on exactly that same question...he does in fact make one...but he charges 500 bones for the adapters....and the wiring really isn't that hard....i just took the connectors that i needed from the harnesses and wired them up together....i do need to work some of the kinks out...but eh! it works!!!

I finally got all my guages to work today. The last holdout was the gas level guage. Found the right ground on the connector for the tank pressure sender in the engine bay. I believe it can be done for LT1 vehicles. Just takes studying the wire diagrams some. Keep the sending unit for your temp guage and put in the passenger head. Oil pressure sending units can be swapped or added at the bypass cover above oil filter. Tachs can be adjusted for in the computer. Speedometer runs off the VSS wire. I haven't hooked up the MIL yet because I have some codes to clear. 8 codes on first check at auto zone. Believe these were all thrown before getting power to transmission. If your time is worth more than most, $500 dollars aint bad to have it done by someone else so you can work at something else though. Mines 96 S10 Blazer with 2005 5.3, 4l60e electronic throttle body. Runs strong. Enjoy your conversion. Alldata is the place for all kinds of info on wiring also if you do it yourself.

I'm going to be in the same boat pretty soon, excpet mines a 97 Z28. Does Speartech require both harnesses for the conversion? I'm still undecided if I want to tackle that myself or have them do it. Five hundred seems like a high price for about 5 spliced wires, that's 100.00 per splice!! ? But hey, maybe it's worth the piece of mind knowing it's done correctly lol... ?

I called John and he told me to send my engine harness from the LS1 and my pcm to him and he owuld take care of it for 500. He calibrates the tach and everything to read correctly on the lt1 gauges.
