Default Reaaaally bad vibration when clutched in and revved.

Somethings up. I've been running my clutch/flywheel combo for over a year now and this problem just came up.

Say I'm doing 70 in 6th, and I clutch in and bring the revs up. Above around 3k there is a HORRIBLE vibration that sounds like the muffler just fell of and the whole car rattles. It does it in 4th and 5th as well. It doesn't do it when the clutch is engaged, so I can pull to redline no problem. There is some shifting issues at WOT if I try to shift too fast from 1-2.

It does feel a little rougher at idle, especially at cold start up.

Is it possible my flywheel has come loose somehow? I loktighted the bolts, but the new flywheel is aluminum so maybe the heat changed the dimensions.

I would check the fasteners on the pressure plate and the flywheel.

I was really hoping that response wouldn't come up

Last thing I want to do is pull the freaking tranny again.

Don' blame you, I am beginning to put mine back together on my back and the last thing I would want to do is start over. Good luck.

Update:

Never yanked the tranny, but I had some other issues that made me check out the tranny mount even though I had just installed an ES one back in February. Turns out that was shot.

I just put another one in and the vibrations that I was feeling before have gone away, replaced by the new vibrations that come with breaking in the new mount.

$20 fix vs. a couple days pulling and re-installing the tranny

Glad it worked out like that.
