Default Can I Use an LS7 Clutch and Spec ALUM Flywheel???

So i need a new clutch and I want to get the LS7, but I invested in a spec aluminum flywheel a couple clutches ago and it's worked great, but my question is can use this flywheel w/the LS7 clutch or no?

Anyone try this?

Thanks

A regular, flat, LS1 flywheel will not work with the LS7 clutch. You need a flywheel for an LS2. It has pedestals to which the clutch cover bolts to.

Our SC66A-2 is a stepped flywheel for use with the stock LS7 clutch. Let me know if you all have any further questions. Thanks!

What is the difference b/t a "Stepped flywheel", a stock iron flywheel, and an aluminum flywheel?

The LS7 uses a stock flywheel that is stepped (not flat). This means that there is a height difference bwteen the mounting surface and the contact surface for the disc. Aftermarket flywheels are offered in either Billet steel or aluminum. Either option is lighter and more consistent in terms of material quality than the stock cast piece. Remember, the lighter the flywheel/clutch assembly the lower the MoI (which is a good thing). Let me know if you all have any further questions. Thanks!
