Default Tachometer calibration, is it possible?

My tachometer reads too low, anywhere from 300-350rpm too low at idle (car idling at 750, tachometer reads around 1100), and even higher up it's still around 200rpm off. I know it's doing it because I've had a scan tool with tachometer hooked up, held the rpm at certain speeds on the scanner, and looked at the tach. The speedometer matches the scan tool perfectly, but is there a way to calibrate the tachometer? It really bugs the heck out of me to know it's that far off.

You could pull the needle; rev to a set RPM with the scan tool and just put the needle on the appropriate #
