Default Which GM parts are weakest?

1. Oil pump
2. Rockers
3. push rods
4. behive springs
5. lifters
6. pistons/rings?

Anything else of poor design or have they fixed most of these in the newer engines?

The oil pump isnt the weak link, its the oiling system as a whole. I agree with the rockers. Its people out there that have picked up across the board with a quality aftermarket rocker. The pushrods and springs get changed anyways with a cam swap so I feel thats irrelevent. For what we put these motors through the lifters and pistons hold up quite well. The stock pistons will take you as far as you want to go as long as you stay N/A.

Dont forget the WORST GM designed part in its history!! The Awesome 10 bolt

but i agree with the above statement and would add you will spin a bearing if you rev these things to 7000+... they jsut werent designed for that.
