Default Weird Noise On COLD Start

i have a 228/232 cam in my car, i jsut recently developed a weird noise on a cold start. And by cold start i mean my car is not a DD so it can sit for 2 weeks on end. But anyways when i start the car i have great oil pressure. I would guess around 60 - 70 psi. If you were to pop the hood, stand on the passanger side and give the car some gas with the TB you can hear it make this noise. this noise sounds like a baby chick when they are born. it is like a sort of high pitch chriping sound. at idle it is BARELY present. But when you give some gas with the TB the sound rev matches the RPMs......

Here is the kicker. once the car is warmed up. Which takes about 5 mins, the chirping sound goes away!

I initally thought that the lifter leaked out, needed more oil to it. Could it be a lifter? Could it be a PR?

What are your guy's thoughts??

Thanks

-Jonas

I have taken a bar of soap and carefully rubbed the belt while running before. The car had aluminum pulleys and would make all kinds of noise before we did that

works like a lube, soap has oil in it.
I would as well change the belts to gates. that what we use on the helicopters I work on and only use those on my car. figured aviation uses them why not on my car. goodyear and bando would make noise on my H/C WS6, dont have that problem anymore....

You should check your belts and start your car more frequently. Like every 3/4 days.

mine started doing the same thing, i've changed the belt, tensioner, idler, and alternator (for other reasons) and it still makes the noise, goes away when the car is warm. i am not running an AC belt. cant figure this out, i've even ran sandpaper on the belt a little and it didnt change...

EDIT: what the hell, the soap fixed it, for a little bit, whats the permanent fix?

you have the exact same noise? When you used the soap, what side of the belt did you apply it too? The smooth side or the side the grooves? Basically top of belt or bottom?

on the smooth side it got rid of some of it, but on the groove side it made all the noise go away, i also sprayed some WD40 the next day and it quieted up, it still comes back over time though, i was told the belt may be too short...
