Default New guy needs advice.........

Just bought a 2000 ss with 47,850 on the dial. I am a former mach1 owner......This SS is FAST!!! It has a Lid,Filter,Magnaflow catback.The guy said he geared it down from stock.I have smoked some good cars.what are the things I should be looking for to make this thing keeps strong to 165K.What are the things to check for with age. What are 1/4 mile times with those mods......

welcome to the site. if you wanna keep the car running as long as possible make sure you take it in for oil changes when it needs it, run high quality gas and keep it stock if you want it to last forever and not be changing parts. w/ 1/4 it depends on if its an a4 or m6. again welcometo the site and make sure you read all the stickies that are in yellow on the top of each caegory.

stock your in the 13's with gears and mods maybe more then you got 12's

longevity!! dont mod it... performance will put more strain on parts even though it made for high performance. gears, alone will put you in the high 12's. otherwise perform manufactured recommended scheduled maintenance and you'll be fine.....
