Default S10 lower hose w 4.3 radiator

Those of you with a 95 up s10 and running the 4.3 radiator what combinations of hose did you use to get the lower to work for you.

I did a 5.3 in my 96 4x4 Blazer. I think I just cut a section of the old 4.3 lower or a section from the 2005 Suburban lower to fit. It was a pretty short elbow section. Works good so far.

Somewhere I posted up what I used for lower and Upper hoses. I am pretty sure I just cut the 45 bend off of the stock 4.3 lower and used it. But I know back before I posted up all the Napa numbers for upper and lower.

Well It was all going into my 96 sonoma until a month ago when a chick yapping on her cell phone blew a red and sent it to heaven. Now I have a 98 noma that I am putting it all into. I built the harness myself out of an f-body engine harness to be 100 percent plug in into my 96. Now I have to take it all back apart and reintegrate it into an 2002 harness. My 98 did not have power windows and locks so I got all of the guts from an 02 that I am shoving into the older truck. I got spoiled my 96 was loaded and the best I could do 2nd go round was a perfect body and interior wise truck but no frills. But, I can make it loaded without problems.

Good luck. I think the newer harnesses are easier to work with, especially with the underhood fuse box already there. Sounds like you are in for some fun ahead. Sorry about the bad luck with the old 96. My 96 Blazer is finally running good. I enjoyed the wiring myself also. When your done, you'll know everything about your vehicle, thats for sure. Now if I can just cringe and cut the hole in the hood to make it close over the 5.3.

I am assuming you are in the same boat as me and trying to make truck accessories and intake work. I just have it roughly sitting in and the frame notched and it sure looks like the damm hood is going to be too close. I am thinking about going ahead and going with the vet accessories. God I hate the thought of spending 700 dollars but for the price it's not bad considering everything is brand new gm stuff. Guess thats where the credit card that paid off comes in handy.

yes, I'm doing the same thing. It will close if I take off the engine cover and purge solenoid at the front of the intake. I kept all the polution control stuff so I'm going to try and make it work. Thing runs great. Very strong all the way through the rpm range. Hard to keep off the gas pedal. Good luck again with yours.

On a lot of FWD cars the purge solenoid just has two vaccum fittings and a remotely mounted solenoid and I was contemplating just plugging the one in the top of the intake and using one of the vaccum fittings going into the intake manifold to provide a path for the evap flow.

That was a thought too. Just remote mounting mine on a manifold off to the side. Wouldn't be hard, just time consuming and clutter. I like the look of the cover covering up the truck intake when you look at the engine, so I'll probably cut the hole and fab up a cowl for it. Very minimal if I can can keep it that way. Took it to Chevy dealer today to look for connector terminals. Showed the head mechanic that gave me a lot of my schematics and diagrams. They all liked it. No terminals though. On your 98, does it have a standalone ABS module that doesn't require the old computer?

Starting in 97 they went to the standalone. 97 up uses a high res rear speed signal from the pcm and thats it. I am converting mine to the newer 02 style matchbox abs unit. The only reason I am doing it is because I am putting in power windows and locks and the newer harness is from an 02 and I do not want to dick with cutting and splicing for the abs.
