Wheels & Tires - problem with staggered wheel sets?

Hello, ive tried the search function, and have found some posts saying one way and some another.... im wondering if i can get a set of oem zo6 wheels for the weight reduction, and not have the different sized rims (17 front 18" rear) wreak havoc on my traction control and my abs system...is this true? and if so is there any way around it? i really want the oems for the weight, since the reproduction ones seem to weigh so much. anyone have any insight for me? :judge:

You just need to make sure that you get the right size tires so that the overall height of the tire is the same as stock. So your car will never even know that the wheels were changed. Not sure what size wheels your trying to get. but im assuming 17x9.5/18x10.5? If you get 275/40/17s for the front and 295/35/18s for the rear. You'll be good.

please dont do staggered diameters :cry: youre going to have a larger profile tire up front.

I agree ^^^
Staggered setups are for vettes, they have diff size wheel wells so it fills in better. I'd never put a staggered set up on my z.

Vettes have smaller wheel wells up front, so they pretty much HAVE to have different diameter wheels to look good. f-body wheel wells are exactly the same size if you measure at the very bottom horizontally, and vertically I think the front wheel well might actually be bigger. so it makes the staggered"ness" look even worse. do staggered widths, not diamteres. firebirds in particular need a bigger tire in back.

you could probably just get the change in tire sizes tuned in the computer so it won't freak out
