Drag Racing Results - Personal Best N/A Pass (9.13)

Ran my best N/A pass ever at ORP on Thursday night test and tune. 9.13 @ 149 at 3190 lbs. I'm getting close to my goal of 8's on the motor. It spun the tires and the air was crappy, so hopefully there's a little more left.
I only got to make 3 passes. On my 3rd pass, right after I crossed the finish line, my Harwood hood decided to split into and fly in to the air about 200 ft. The freaking top skin came off and the bottom part was still bolted to the hinges and front latch. I'm going to call and bitch, but I doubt Harwood will do anything about it.
The date is wrong on the time slip, it was Thursday the 24th.

Congrats & great reaction time. Sorry to hear about your hood. Good luck on your goal to get into the 8's on motor.

Kick ass times and mph. Looks like you have a little left on the 60', get that into the 1.2's and 8's are yours. You 1/8 to 1/4 time is outstanding (5.86 to 9.13  ).
Congrats

Great times. What's the set up?
BTW, I lost a Harwood hood off my old Camaro on the Parkway years back. :(

Great times. What's the set up?
BTW, I lost a Harwood hood off my old Camaro on the Parkway years back. :(540 with a JW Ultra Glide, 5,800 JW 9" converter, it's got a set of old Dart 320's some serious porting though, Lunati 4.25 pro series crank, Oliver rods, 14.5 comp Wiseco Pistons, Jesel rockers, Old Barry Grant 1050 (flows 1140), .748 280 284 on a 108 LS.
I just added the vacuum pump and I plan switching to a bigger carb. The 1050 was on my 461 motor. I think I'm going to get a Quick Fuel 1250 or maybe a Pro Systems.
Here's a few pixs. The top part of the hood looks pretty good in the picture but it's got several cracks. I searched the internet and nobody makes a carbon fiber hood for 3rd gens that I can find. I even found them for freaking Honda's and Cavalier's.

Congrats on the times!
Try calling Harwood, they may surprise you! A guy had one do the EXACT same thing at Super Chevy here a few years back and got a new one @ no cost from them when they were on the midway!

Very nice. I am very impressed with your times. I do not want to be quite that fast. :) But hey, things change! I love that everything is BIG on the car; that's the way to go!! Did you say "all motor" pass, because I see nitrous! :)

That was a all motor pass. I still have the nitrous on it, but haven't even put in a bottle for 4 years. I use to make a ton of nitrous passes with my 461 motor, it ran 9.90's-10.0's n/a and 8.80's with a 250 shot. I'm just not a big fan of nitrous, it's cheap horsepower though.
My current converter goes to 5,800 on the motor, so it's to loose to spray. I hate to speculate, but with a tighter converter it should go at least 8.50's if not 20's or 30's. I want to run 8's on the motor first, then I might spray it later.

Thanks. I like using the stock seats, I don't like the feel of the plastic or aluminum racing seats. I'll keep the stock seats till they say I can't use them.
Thanks to everyone for the nice compliments.

Harwood replaced my hood for free! I couldn't hardly believe it, they shipped me a brand new hood completely free of charge. It's rare these days that a company stands behind a product like that. Big thumbs up to Harwood. :)
