Default Need advice on budget motor!!

Ok, I let my uncle borrow the zo6 and he went through a puddle of water and hydrolocked the motor. Basically, the rod went right through the block. He is gonna pay for the motor replacement, but I do not want to put such a monster dent in his wallet, as I know it really wasnt his fault. Accidents happen. So, Im looking at making this a budget motor. Maybe you guys can give me some suggestions as to which vendors or companies can give me a short block for as cheap as possible but with forged rods/pistons. The car will be around 500 whp anyways with the heads/cam im gonna do while the motor is gonna be out so i figure the stock crank will hold up to that just fine. I've already looked at scoggin dickeys site and texas speeds site, both seem reasonably priced for their budget motors, but am pretty much just looking to find the best priced one for the parts you can get.
