Default Project Twin-Turbo Mustang

Thought I would post some times from the shop's project twin-turbo Mustang.

I posted all the stat's on the 93 Mustang on an earlier post. -- Twin 61's, Navigator engine, etc, etc. Pretty much a street car. The owner took it to the World Ford Challenge last weekend. He ran the "Wild Street" class. Since this was the car's 1s time at the track he had some proplems. In a nut shell, best run was a 10.02 at 142 on a 1.70 60'.

We took it to the local track this last Saturday. Ironed out some problems with the 2-step and transbrake. Believe it was 4-5 runs. Best runs were 9.76 at 142; with the last run being a new best of 1.42 60'; 6.25 at 115 in 1/8; 9.67 at 142 in 1/4. He was very pleased. He ran a borrowed set of M/T Drag 26x10.5x15; max boost was 19lbs (he can run it up to 28lbs). All that and his car's race weight was 3860lb. Obviously has a lot left in it.

I'll post a couple of the pictures from the WFC. I'm sure he'll give prop's to Joey at Excessive for an outstanding tune. AND I'll give Ryan a huge thumps up for putting together a great car. It is one BAD *** street car.

The parachute has 1 bolt to remove it for street use. The owner's intent was to make it 100% street looking, down to the rear seats and stock rims.

Attached are a couple engine pictures.

I just love that factory stocker look!!! Just imagine the reactions of those typical gearheads that might run across him (those that think they have one bad-@$$ fast car). Gee!!! I hope I'd never, never ran into him.

Only thing the car is missing is the A/C and heater. 10-point, heavy *** 3-speed (with a over-drive for hiway cruising), stock rim, with street tires, 275-40-17 M/T Drag radial (for street, 26x10x15 M/T Drags for track), stock seats (front and rear), 2 batteries, A/W intercooler, etc, etc.

It was kind-of funny at the WFC when they weighed it. Class minimum was 3150. A lot of the cars running had to add weight, Ryan wished he could loose some. The driver weighs about 170-180.

Heavy... it's a tank.

Thanks for the compliments. Not many people will want to take this bad boy on. It also has a full one-off custom exhaust system. You can't even tell that it is running.

Sorry. I noticed the low profile tires/bulldog stance/ET/MPH/weight combo and it made me wonder if it was carrying any weight in the back to help out with the hook.

Which is common, btw.

I was wondering the same thing. It looks like he has his weight set in the trunk!

890rwhp on 23lbs of boost. I believe the weight is holding it back just a "tad".

Did see an old fart there? That would have been me. The owner really likes to talk to people on his car - don't we all

We've tried to convince him to cut a little. No way. He normally runs with a full tank of gas. That's got to be an extra 100lb right there. Oh well, his car. Still one fast stang
