Default Machine work cost?

What do you think it would run to hone, maybe light bore a block .010, balance and install new pistons/rods? I am considering dropping in forged pistons and rods on a stock crank. Any ideas on machine work/labor?

Thats Pretty cheap, we do our own assembly but the machine shop we use charges us 275 to TQ plate Bore/Hone, Main Align bore/Hone. On average our balance/Assembly cost is about $500 more if we have to use Mallory for the crank.

I would say anything between 700-900 is a good price.

heres some prices i was quoted...

$400 blueprint and assembly

$175 balance the motor (i got new forged rods and pistons)

$360 Machine work (ie.. Hone to 3.905, turn the crank .010, cam bearings + install, and degrease the block)

$75 to file fit my rings.

for a total of $1010.00.....

i on the other hand only had the machine work and the balancing done $535.
