my car was dynoed after my 408 break in with a Yank SS4000 verter.Since a year ago something let loose in my SS4000 and went to a SS3800.Now car dyno's 30 rwhp and 10 rwtq less on the same dyno and tuner.Doesnt make since to me.Going a little lower in rpm I thought would pick up a few ponies?

You should be dynoing locked, and if the clutch holds
there'd be no converter based difference. If.
At those kind of stall speeds you would be still not
really be fully coupled up at 6000RPM if unlocked,
not reaching full efficiency (even my 3500 is still
showing efficiency come up with RPM at that point).
Which would put you into manufacturer's build
particulars, for power out the back. 500HP is a lot
to expect a little, non-WOT-lockup-rated converter
to hold back. You probably would like a look at TCC
slip on the dyno.
