93s had 2 different versions. M28 and M29...different gearing than the later models. one was rated to 350# the other 450# i think

and after that i've always heard the trans was rated to 450#s

I know that Keisler has two versions of the T-56: 475hp and a 650hp. The 475 has a bigger first gear, while the 650 has a small sixth gear.

Unless you spraying a lot of nitrous, or have a big turbo kit going on, I wouldnt worry about. People here have put their T-56's through ALOT.

Keisler does not make the T56 so how can they claim a higher torque than Tremec? Both of those claims are both unfounded and surely not covered.

You can check their site. They have Tremec TKO's and a speed analyzer for a T56. It's a 6 speed double overdrive... I think that's it.

for ls1s they are rated at 450 but i talked to the guys at tremec last year at corvettes at carlisle and they said that gm made them rate it at that even though they said it should be good well over 500.. They did however say the weak link is the 3-4 fork and the rep wasnt sure why they didnt just use the same one in the viper..

it is stronger than the cobra t-56 though and we know what kind of power theyre running.

The factory Tremec numbers are very conserative. I have done long term testing with my shop car and the failure point seems to be around 700hp, my most recient engine was making 720hp and 560lbft at the rear wheels, and I have had some gear releated failures. I have a street car that we a currently doing some durability testing aswell. It all depends on how the car is treated also my racecar is launched at 7000rpms and higher with the stock gear set. I usually get about 30 passes before we see signs of destruction. I do know that the factory f-body mainshaft will fail at 500whp, as mine was twisting at that power level. The Viper outputshaft has been proven to 1200whp. I have a few customes that are making over 1000hp at the wheels with turbo cars. Roll racing is far less destructive than drag racing of cource. The steel fork was devolped by someone in the Dodge viper road racing program in 1996 I believe. They descovered that the al fork would devolop stress cracks because of the extreme shift cycles that the cars were see during some of the long races. Calhoon knows more about the fork stuff than I do. I think that he was involved with Tremec at some point.
